CLINIC CLEAR WHITENING LOTION: How Good or Bad Is this Product? (Review)

Hello dear,

This will be my first blog post on beauty and in subsequent times, I will be posting beauty and skincare tips, guides and reviews.

We are always in search of things or products that will keep our skins looking bright, smooth, clear, and beautiful, that’s probably because we understand that looking good is good business.

Back to our topic, I’ll be sharing a review- my own experience during and after using the above-mentioned product.

Sometime in February when I went shopping, I asked for my cream at the supermarket but unfortunately, it was out of stock. While thinking of an alternative cream to pick, I came across Clinic Clear Whitening Lotion. Why it caught my attention among every other option I saw in the shelf was the fact that my close friend is currently using it and I love the way it helped improve her skin, so I decided to give it a try.

I am always sceptical and rigid when it comes to skincare products; I usually stick to what I know to avoid stories that touch the heart.

After buying the cream, I went online to check for reviews about it but I saw many controversies concerning the cream, some of which got me scared. (Tips: always check for reviews before making a buying decision).

However, I still went ahead to use it. (After all, it is working well for my friend).

PRODUCT DETAILS:

Clinic Clear Whitening Lotion, a product of DODO Cosmetics Company is available in 500ml bottle. The brand comes as a full package as it also has soap, oil, tube cream and cup cream. It was only the lotion that I purchased and used.

PRICE:

The price of this lotion varies with location but it is usually between 700-900 Naira, although I bought mine for 700 Naira.

INGREDIENTS:

According to the information provided in the container, the ingredients of the lotion are:

“Stearic Acid, C16-C18, Petroleum jelly, Mineral Oil, Cetiol, BHT, Vit E, Citric Acid, Parabens, Vit. C, Sodium Sulfite, Fragrance, Coconut Oil, Carrot oil, Ethyl Diglycol, Sorbitol, Kojic Acid, HN. White, Demineralized water”.

MY EXPERIENCE:

Few days after I started using the lotion (morning and night), I noticed a rapid result. I became way lighter than before. I was enjoying the product until I noticed some uneven fairness, especially at my hands and feet. I had dark knuckles, although not so noticeable because I’m fair but at a close look, you would notice.

I had to discard the lotion and went back to my previous body cream. This incident happened in February. My skin has since recovered from the reactions.

PROS:

  • The lotion is very affordable
  • It leaves a smooth feel on the skin without making it look sticky and oily.
  • The whitening effect of the lotion is very rapid
  • Long-lasting

CONS:

  • There are many fake Clinic Clear Whitening Lotion product out there.
  • The lightening effect is too fast and can cause annoying skin reactions.
  • You will go darker if/when you stop using the lotion, although this condition.

RATING:

Rating: 2 out of 5.

4/10

Truly, what works for someone else may not work for you due to our body and skin differences. This lotion is working well for my friend but my skin reacted to it, although not as harsh as the ones I read in some reviews.

There have been several controversies about this product and how the company probably used hidden harsh chemicals such as hydroquinone and steroids in their skincare products (cream).

While some persons revealed that the product is good for them, several others complained about reacting to the product mildly or harshly, from white dots and uneven fairness to skin patches and stretch marks.

I will advise that you find skincare products that work for you and stick to them.

Kindly leave a comment below if you have any suggestions as to what beauty or skincare product you would want me to review. You can send an email to me at onwukajudyth@gmail.com or gexoticworld@gmail.com
